Eligibility Criteria for the Shanghai Government Scholarship:

  • The person applying must not be a Chinese national and be in good health.
  • For undergraduate programs, applicants must have at least a high school diploma and be no more than 25 years old. For master’s programs, applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree and be no more than 35 years old. For PhD programs, applicants must have at least a master’s degree, be able to do academic research and be no more than 40 years old.
  • People who want to join the pre-college program must have a high school diploma and a letter of pre-admission to an academic program from a Shanghai university. They must also be younger than 23 years old.
